What is the best way to stop someone from snoring?

My boyfriend has the deepest snore. It sounds like it is coming from his toes! My mother said to just put a pillow over his head but I kinda love him and want him alive. Any suggestions?

snoring is normal but abnormal snoring could be a precursor to something else like sleep apnea and so first step would be to find a way to open up his airways more and there are things you can get at the drugstore that opens up the nasal passages a bit (it’s a strip you put over your nose) so that he can breath through his nose and keep his mouth closed. If that doesn’t work he may want to ask his doctor. He can go to a resperatory specialist and they can actually use a computer to map out his airways and make sure that everything is okay. next step would be a sleep study to check for sleep apnea possibilities.

If his snoring is really loud and disruptive, chances are good that it is caused by a condition called sleep apnea, which MUST be taken seriously. Untreated sleep apnea not only stresses both the snorer and everyone else in the house who can’t get a good night’s sleep, it can also lead to heart malfunction and death! And, contrary to popular belief, many people have this condition who are NOT overweight.
Apnea is easily treated with the use of a night-breathing aid called a CPAP. He must see a sleep doctor before he can get one, as they have to be individually adjusted, but most insurance covers the cost. CPAP eliminates snoring 100% and keeps the heart from being damaged. Surgery is very rarely used to treat apnea, as the success rate is not that good.
Please ask your boyfriend to get his doctor to refer him to a sleep doctor or sleep clinic ASAP. These facilities often have a long waiting list, and procrastinating can really damage his health. Do it right away. And enough with the pillows, etc – IT’S NOT HIS FAULT; IT’S A MEDICAL CONDITION, NOT A MORAL FAILING!
Tell him to stop drinking milk!
Milk produces excess snot (or buggers whatever ya call them, I cant spell the proper word) this means he cant breath through his nose clearly so he has 2 take a deep breath through the nose ie. snores!!
Also try adding an axtra pillow – head height will help!
Thankfully my boyfriend isn’t quite that bad. Usually if he’s on his back I can nudge him over to his side and that usually does the trick. But if it’s really bad then he probably needs to see a doctor for sleep apnia. My father was really bad, you could hear him at the other end of the house with the doors shut in between. Until then once he falls asleep you can always go to another room.
He probably has sleep apnea. Have him take the test and once he is treated the snore will go away and he will feel so much better in the morning!
