It’s your sister that’s snoring? Or you? Anyhow, in most cases, it’s caused by sleep apnea, or a condition where the soft palate (in the back of the throat) blocks the airway and causes that obnoxious, rattling snore.
If you can get your sister to roll on her stomach, the snoring will stop instantly. Otherwise, buy yourself a good pair of earplugs and insert them before bed. (be sure to always wipe them with alcohol when you remove them).
Found a great website called "stop snoring tips" that will help your sister reduce her snoring, and give you tips for getting a better night’s sleep. (link below)
Peace & Blessings
Snoring is due to a block in the nasal cavity. Try to sleep on your side and avoid a blocked nose.
I’ve noticed if dh’s neck was pointing towards his chest he snores very loud & often, because his pillow is too low & flat.
If he uses a medium pillow he doesn’t, but he said it hurts his neck. Only because he’s used to sleeping with a flat pillow, not enough support for his neck.
I was given a no-snore pillow and he tried it. But as soon as he turned to his side, his head was again pointing to his chest and he started snoring again. He needs to keep his head tilted higher but there’s no solution. He wants his old ‘flat’ pillow because it’s down pillow.
You snore when you sleep on your back, try sleeping on the right side and drink some water before you go to bed.
Smack her up !
You see those commercials for the nasal strips? Try those out, or maybe you have sleep abnomia or something medical wrong with you?
My hubby snores and he’s tried the anti-snoring spray (sprays onto throat to relax the muscles and therefor reduces snoring), which has work ok. For the people affected by your snoring: that I can give advice from my experience… I’ve found 100% relief from hearing him at night by using silicon ear plugs. You mould them to your outer ear (so not nvasive on your ear canal) and the silence is bliss. Suggest these to your sisters to try this – if they love and care about you, they will compromise for you by sleeping with these and letting you rest.
1 . To prevent snoring, a solid, flat pillow is recommended, or no pillow at all. Keeping the neck straight will reduce snoring but elevating the head with a pillow will narrow nasal passages and induce snores.
2 . The easiest and most successful home remedy is to simply change sleeping positions. As mentioned, sleeping on the back is the number one cause of snoring in those who do not have a severe problem.
3 . You could try and increase the strength in the throat as well as tongue by performing certain exercises that will prevent the tongue from falling back towards the throat.
4 . Stop Bad Habits That Contribute to Snoring. One of these is smoking because smoking causes the throat to swell and become inflamed.
5 . If your snoring is caused by allergies or by a cold, there are a couple of things you can do. First, take an antihistamine or a decongestant before you go to bed. Another option is to gargle with peppermint mouthwash.
