What causes breathing problems for cats/ kittens?

Strange noises, sounds like a "piglet"…, "hiccup-coughs", sneezing, snoring.

Has your cat been checked out by a vet?
A common cause of Respitory tract infection is Feline Influenza.
Cat Flu and URTIs are relatively common, although cat flu can easily be avoided by vaccinating your pets. They are spread very easily.
This can be fatal to cats who are infected with Feline AIDS.
I would certainly be taking the cats to the vets to rule out anything that may be contageous and to get a suitable course of antibiotics to help clear the infection.
Generally cats who are infected with these viruses never make a full recovery and tend to have breathing difficulties for the rest of their lives.
