Is glycerine good for snoring?

I suffer from severe snoring and have tried several glycerin based remedies, which have failed. However, last night I tried a spoonful of straight glycerin, and my wife had the best nights sleep she had had in years! Does anybody know of any problems or side effects of using it long term?

SEE a doc. Snoring is a symptom of underlying disease. Often chronic severe snoring is related to sleep apnea.
You didn’t say if your wife slept in the same room
Glycerine is great for the skin but has been reported to burn the tongue. I wouldn’t be swaollowing any more of it my friend. Buy your gf ear plugs or get yourself checked out by a doctor.
God bless.
Not a good idea. Glycerin is not intended for consumption as a health supplement. A lot of things will "knock you out" but they are not healthy for you. Try the tennis ball trick. A lot of people who snore do so while sleeping on their backs. Put a tennis ball in a sock and pin to to the back of your shirt. Then, when you turn over at night, it will nudge you back onto your side. Also, try using a humidfier. Many people who snore suffer from undiagnosed allergies. The humidifier will ease your breathing and reduce snoring. Whatever you do to stop snoring, it’s worth it. Snoring has been linked to a 67% increased risk of stroke.
