I suffer from chronic stuffy nose and snoring, and I think I may have sleep apnea?
My nose is always plugged up. I don’t remember the last time I could breath through both nostrils at the same time, one nostril is always partially clogged… I think I may have a deviated septum, but does that only affect one nostril? I don’t know much about it really.
I also have been told that I snore quite loudly, and sometimes wake myself, though I’ve never consciously awoken. However, even when I get 8 hours of sleep I still often feel unrested. To me that sounds like sleep apnea
My question is,
Is this a common issue? Do I maybe have an allergy to something that is around me all the time? Do you think I should have a sleep disorder evaluation?

Do I maybe have an allergy to something that is around me all the time?
Yes. Allergy may be playing a part in your problem. Yet, ENT doc should have look if there is any anything blocking.
Do you think I should have a sleep disorder evaluation?
Possibly not. In sleep apnea(apnea=stoppage of breathing), you wake up with a feeling of suffocation with increased heart rate. Your description does not fit.
ENT consultation is the first thing to do.
try sleeping in a room with a dehumidifier… but yah i have the same, i broke my nose when i was 10 tho, and now im 20… and i have 1 nostril plugged all the time, which is weird
but you could try those breath easy strips that go ontop of nose and open it up? might work for you? i hafd a sleep study test done a moth ago and next tuesday i get my results.. so hopefully something comes out which i can fix
i dont snore but i sleep super heavy, like nothing can wake me, (dad punched me once and was amazed i stayed asleep lmfao…. (i let him
)
good luck with you thing, u can go get a sleep study test if you would like.. but be tired day of, i ied there for hours .. think i got like 1 hour of sleep.
Sounds like your snoring is caused by the fact that your breathing is being obstructed during your sleep. That is the very reason why snoring happens in the first place – if there is something blocking the airways. I suggest you elevate your pillow higher so you can breathe better. Also, find out too what might be causing your clogged nose.
If you are worry about the whole thing, best thing to do is see a doctor.
