My daddy (He’s 49 I’m 14) had a stroke two days ago while he was on a business trip to Miami (we live in DC). His co-workers realized that he wasn’t with them and when they went to his room they found him and called 911. No one knows how long he was there after the fact, and I know that the best chance of recovery depends on how soon the person gets medical treatment. I’m going to see him for the first time on Thursday or Friday (that’s when I’m flying down there) and I’m scared because I don’t know what condition he will be in, especially since he had brain surgery to cease the swelling. My question is 1) Is there a website where they have pictures of stroke victims? (I want to walk into the room with atleast a little something to expect) and 2) What is the damage of a stroke, especially when the person isn’t found until hours later, for both the family and the victim?
But I have talked to my aunt who has been down there with him and she says that he’s doing good for a stroke of such seriousness. She said that he’s trying to get up and he’s snoring even though he’s swdated and heavily medicated.
